Hello Everyone! 

Welcome to my first blog about my adventures in traveling to West Africa!  Having purchased my plane ticket last week, I'm off to Tyler,TX the evening of June 6th.  Eight weeks of training later, my cohort heads to West Africa.  The Africa Mercy will be my home for the next two years, as I serve the crew and it's guests as a receptionist.  My first day as a receptionist on the ship, officially, is August 4th, 2012. 

This afternoon, my lovely friend, Amy gave me the gift of a photo shoot.  At the end, she prayed for this journey I've begun.  Tonight, my friends Molly and Nicole are helping me as I tackle my support letter writing.  This morning, I marked off another day in my countdown...58 days and counting.  Fifty eight days and counting?!  It's beginning to sink in...in less than two months, my life will change forever.  I'll be stretched, for sure, and I'm a little nervous.  But I'm a lot excited!  As much as I hope to impact those I meet in Africa, I know I'll come back changed because of them.
